Carnevale, The Carnival of Venice

29 January 2011
.
Izwan's friend Rozana went to Italy in late 2008 and gave us this fridge magnet. Italian mask, which still remains one of my favourites.
.
.
I was so intrigued by it that I took several pics and hence feel the obligation to myself to upload at least five of them up here.

Italian Mask

This gorgeous Italian is from Mrs Wood. It is a steel magnet; which Mrs Wood bought during her honeymood in Europe.
.
Nice, very nice. It is rather heavy, too.

Pizza Italiano

.
.
If you think you have seen this in my blog, you are 60% right.
Looks like my other man-in-gondola magnet.
My earlier entry Cinema Italiano, fridge magnet #443.
Similar, but not the same.
\
This one was a gift from Mrs Wood; my kind hearted fellow addicted to fridge magnet kaki.

Cinema Italiano

.
.
Our neighbour Shazwim went for a two (or was it 3?) months training in Dublin. He bot us this. I think his flight made a stop in Italy but I can't say for sure. Probably he and his family spent time there. And I am definitely not complaining!

This is similar to what Wood gave me; but Wood's magnet is with a bit of colour.

"Cinema Italiano" is the title of a song sang by Kate Hudson and featured in the movie "Nine".

Venezia & Gondol.. la

Imagine taking this picture and making it into a fridge magnet:

ta-da!!!

This is my most recent fridge magnet from Italy. Shazwiom & his family went to Ireland and I think his flight stopover was in Italy; and hence, I stand to reap the benefit! This one is similar to the one Mrs Wood gave me, but nope, definitely not the same.

Italian Granite

This one was a souvenir from my boss Alizan. He went to Berlin for a conference cum holiday and brought this fridge magnet for me. I am actually quite unsure of the origin of this magnet for it says "Made In Italy" but I know for a fact he did NOT go to Italy.

So, shall I say that it comes from Berlin? or from Italy?

I have a similar problem involving a canadian farmhouse magnet which Nik Yurni bought at a fare in Nottingham. Or the Utah magnet I bought in Arizona. Hmm :-)

This is a Barola 1993 wine label. Very creative, right? The magnet is granite and the wine label is printed on it. Very nice.

Fire of Firenze

This gorgoues magnet was purchased by Onnair - in Italy, of course. It is the italian word for Florence, the capital city of the Italian region of Tuscany, Italy. Yes, they are not mere names of perfumes, you know.

Among its famous residents are Donatello the scupltor, Raphael the painter, Leornado Da Vinci (if you have never heard of him, where have you been?) and of course Salvatore Ferragamo.
