Fresh Fish, Anyone?

.
One can get fresh fish from Pike Market Place. But one gotta be in Seattle. Me, well, a fridge magnet depicting the market is enough to make me a happy woman!
.

It was opened in 1907 (as one can read from the pig picture on the magnet) and they had quite a celebration for its 100th anniversary.

Remember that tune? I learned it in school, over 30 years ago. Heh. Izwan bought this farmers market when he was in Seattle. A beautiful porcelain magnet, complete with red ribbon with gold band.

Seattle Skyline

This is the famous landmark of Seattle. Remember the movie Men In Black starring Will Smith? It featured the Seattle Needle as an alien aircraft!

Not Sleepless in Seattle

During his official assignment to Seattle last year, Izwan got me some fridge magnets featuring the city. And undoubtedly, this is one of my favourites!

It's rubber, it's bright, it's colourful, and it says what needs to be said. Truly truly awesome. Ahhh (*deep sigh with pleasure*)

I don't mean to be a jerk, but I have taken so many pictures of this precious magnetic rubber; I owe it to the time I spent making it pose for my camera, so here is five of the 15 pictures I took!

UPDATED: ON 25 MAY 2009, I DISCOVERED THAT I HAVE ACTUALLY DONE THIS MAGNETTO. #188.

To Market To Buy a Fat Sheep

These magnets from Seattle is one of my favourites. They are made of rubber. They are colourful. And most of all, they are MINE (*cue for evil laughter*)

Not ONE

Not TWO

but THREE of them!
Ok, two of them bears the same picture, but as a fellow collector Izatul said "meroyan" bila dapat fridge magnets ni! Izwan bought them during his trip to Seattle, of course. Hmm.. now I really cannot wait for him to come back from New York with a handful of magnets. Hopefully he gets some New Jersey magnets too. Now that makes me think of Mimi's favourite singer: Bon Jovi.
But nevermind, here is the factor that makes me grin with delight!

From Dusk Til Dawn

From Dusk Til Dawn? Hmm the title is taken from one movie written by Quentin Tarantino. Iwatched the movie three times, I think. Don't laugh. George Clooney is the main actor! And... err... well, yeah, Tarantino too.
Nothing to do with this blog entry; it is just that Izwan bought a pair of these magnets - one featuring Seattle during the day; and another of the city at night.
Perhaps I should use the title Men in Black? After all, the alien did want to get into the 'flying saucer' lookalike thingy!

Food From Seattle

Izwan brought back food from Seattle, believe it or not!! Plastic food & rubbery food ;-D. They're quite cute. He got them from the Pike Place Market. Firstly, ice-cream and wafer; which someone has already taken a bite! Then there's pasta: Marcaroni & spaghetti.
Usually, we only buy magnets which states the name of the place they come from. But well, there's always spcial cases issue. There is actually another ice cream (in tall bowl with cherry too. But it was broken and now don't know where it is since my kids played with it. If I find it, it'll be in this blog. Here's what appears to be an olive-ful pizza slice!

Bottle Opener

This botthe opener is imported all the way from Seattle a couple of months back. I treasure it and had quickly decided it was going to be mine when Izwan forst showed it to me when he came back from Seattle. There are some awesome pics Izwan had taken during his trip. This picture of Mount Rainier, for instance. The sea, the mountain and the sky; with the clouds covering the mountain top. Breathtaking. Where from: Seattle, Washington, USA

This magnet brought home all the way from Seattle is really special. I'm not sure what it is called but the picture changes as you move it; from panoramic daytime view to romantic view of the night.

Awesome, right? Yeah, it's the same space needle featured in Men In Black, that hilarious movie that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Let me tell you something: The Space Needle is a tower in Seattle, Washington (Not to be mistaken with Wasington DC, y'all) . It is a major landmark and the symbol of Seattle. It was built for the 1962 World's Fair, during which time nearly 20,000 people a day used the elevators, with over 2.3 million visitors in all for the World Fair. The Space Needle is 184 m high and 42 m wide at its widest point. It is built to withstand winds of up to 320 km/h Whoaaaa!!) and earthquakes up to 9.5 magnitude. It also has 25 lightning rods!

This is the space needle I wanted quite badly. Izwan bought three types; and several of one of the types- which I have none in my possession now since I have given them away. And here's a pic of Izwan with the Seatlle Space Needle in the background. Isn't he a handsome one?
