Glen Coe Skyline

Nik Yurni gave me this one. She went for a Scottish holiday last year; and one of the places she visited was Glencoe.

Wikipedia says that Glen Coe (Scottish Gaelic: Gleann Comhann) is a glen in the Highlands of Scotland. It lies in the southern part of the Lochaber committee area of Highland Council, and was formerly part of the county of Argyll. It is often considered one of the most spectacular and beautiful places in Scotland, and is a part of the designated National Scenic Area of Ben Nevis and Glen Coe.

I always admire Scottish panoramic view. Something like the one below, Three Sisters are on the left, Anoach Eagach on the right and Beinn Garbh on the horizon.
I think the pic below (a close up of the magnet) is of the Pass of Glencoe.
It is only an hour or so by car from Oban, the Pass of Glencoe (in Gaelic the "glen of weeping")is seen here brooding under a glowering sky. This was the scene of the infamous massacreof the Macdonalds of Glencoe by Campbell of Glen Lyon following a signal from the SignalRock nearby at dawn in mid-winter of 1692. Campbell's soldiers, who had been billetedwith the Macdonalds rose and slaughtered their hosts - men, women and children.Over 40 were slain and many others who escaped to the hills died of exposure.

Sad story, I know. But a happy one for me, because:
Where from: Glencoe, Scotland
When: 2008.
